Hello dear, so my cat is diagnosed with diabetes. His glucose level was 22.8 so my vet told me to check his level for 5 days before we start with insulin. Meanwhile I started 2 days ago with raw meat and his level dropped to 15. You helped me a lot. I hope his glucose level will drop more and it want be necessary for insulin. Thank you

The information being given on this is questionable at best. And it really makes me sad reading the comments. Not one word said has addressed nutritional value of the food. The reality is it hasn't even addressed the quality of the ingredients in the food. It's just regurgitating their ad slogans. I had to stop listening at the all stage section. All stage is a totally inaccurate feeding guideline All stages is kitten food. You should never feed your senior cat the same thing as a kitten or a lactating mother. Before you spend a ton of money on these foods that are really not good for your cat please do further research. What matters is the nutritional value and that being within the set guidelines.

I've just gone to a normal plastic litter box after being so fed up with the litter robot 4... I hope to upgrade my set up and looking st a stainless steel one! The advice for a better bin is useful too :)

Those silica packets that say "DO NOT EAT" are actually non-toxic. Reasonable amounts of silica are completely safe to ingest. The reason they tell you not to eat them is because the silica in those packets is really good at removing moisture, and your body does not like it when you remove its moisture. Additionally, those packets can be a choking hazard for children and small animals. It's about as safe as eating some sand from a beach. It's not recommended, but it won't kill you.

My one year old cats throw up and vomit from the Viva beef for some reason I’ve only tried turkey I will try chicken and see if they act the same with that but any reason why they would throw up and vomit from the beef??!

Ive searched so much for a stainless steel litter box, the very few i found are costly as hell for no reason... Atl3ast i found a steel scoop for normal price which im glad for since the scoop comes in contact with the pee and poop more than the actual box since i use clumpable ones

Because shipping from the usa thus not realy work for me. So how would you make raw cat food with only the pure ingredients, I don't have a grinder or blender. Our cat recently started Viva food - so far all is well but he does not like the beef. Any suggestions? I tried adding a topper, mixed it with rabbit, warmed it up - just does not like it. Maybe the organ meat is too much in it. What do you think? I can give him some raw hamburger with out the organs tho - he will eat a bit. THANK YOU!

I took my pregnant cat for a regular check up today. The vet asked me what I have been feeding her, I said raw cat food ( Viva Raw ) along with Dr.Elsey's food, all life stages. The vet scolded me and said DO NOT FEED RAW cat food to your pregnant cat and that the term "all life stages" is meaningless. That the food has to be labeled "kitten food" for the pregnant cat. She went on to say raw cat food produces parasites and bacteria in the cat's body that will be very harmful to the kittens. She saw some gingivitis and said the reason she has it is because I am mostly feeding her wet food, that dry food scrapes off plaque from the teeth, helping against gingivitis. I said to her that I disagree. That I have been listening to holistic vets and they emphasize on nutrition and that she studied medicine. She once again said I was wrong, that in vet school they are trained in dog and cat nutrition. I do not know what to believe anymore.

What food brand do you recommend to replace I/d hill diet?

The smell on the house is disgusting fam, cats are dirty

I was doing only raw food, but now I'm adding an automatic feeder to dispense a couple small snacks (High quailty dry food) during the day. My schedule can be unpredictable, so it helps keep their schedule more consistent. And a bit surprisingly, the dry food is more expensive than the raw food I prepare.

My cat is newly diagnosed with diabetes. He’s on insulin and we changed his diet to one of those foods (dry & wet). I monitor his bg when doing his curves (5 or 6th) and I’ve noticed that his bg goes way up even with a 1/2 tbsp(5g) of dry. He wasn’t stabilizing so cut out all dry food and Lo and behold he instantly was doing better and went from 3 units to 1 unit (gradually) hopefully remission soon. Once I get him back on track I’m going to try him on a less expensive wet food because there’s no doubt that the dry food had contributed to his condition in the first place. Question is how much better is the expensive wet food compared to the cheaper.

Why replace the litter box every year? Is it really that dangerous? Should i replace once a year all the plastic things I use in my kitchen? I find that hard to belive, but it might be good advice for people with compromised imune system and germophobes

My cat lived to be 18. We used only 2 plastic litterboxes in her entire life. They stayed very clean because I used plastic litterbox liners that I changed once a month. I also placed several layers of folded newspapers underneath the liners so that if my cat's claws tore holes in the liners, the newspapers would absorb any urine that might leak out. So every month, I'd replace the liners and, if needed, I replaced the newspapers underneath them too. I do like the idea of stainless steel litterboxes, though. I never even knew they existed.

I just got the AquaTru and I found myself feeling very dehydrated even though I was drinking a lot of water. I learned that can happen bc it is filtering out electrolytes and minerals. Now I am worried about giving it to my cat! Going to order the alkaline boost and some test strips and see how that goes. For now he’s on the Brita filter! Out of curiosity, why does the ph need to be lower than 7 for cats?

My dogs adapted slowly to Viva Raw and doing well so far. However, I would caution anyone that needs to rely on shipping times and would recommend a back up option. The website says to order ahead 7 days. We ordered on a Tuesday with one option for shipping was told it would arrive by Saturday. The expected shipping will now be be a minimum of 10 days, it could be longer. The company, despite a good product so far does not have great customer service. I have tried reaching out on this issue, with no help unfortunately. Hopefully they will grow and at some point remedy this issue.

Most stainless steel trashcans have a plastic inner lining tub. Wouldn’t this mean it still smells?

I feed my cat the Fancy Feast chicken pate classics line in combination with dry food, though I don’t overfill her bowl and she knows when she’s had enough and she drinks plenty of water from her fountain. And she’s healthy. I also do give her no more than 4 treats a day. She loves Temptations and Friskies. I feel like people like this UA-camr go a little too overboard with their cat’s nutrition. You don’t have to do all this to “make your cat happy” because a good quality cat food is really all you need. Just take care of your cat. 😂
